We are striving to make this home comfortable yet as environmentally friendly as we can. To reflect our commitment, we decided to accept the challenge of seeking LEED certification.
LEED -- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design -- is a rigorous nationwide certification program of the US Green Building Council. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in key areas of human and environmental health. As of June 2008, there were nine LEED-certified homes in Washington State.
